10k on Sunday

I had been wondering for a while if I should join a 10k race that’s taking place this Sunday. It would be a good experience to take part in a race before the half marathon, so that I know how it’s like to run with a pack, learn a bit more about hydration points and get some experience overall. But on the other side, this Sunday I had planned to make my last Long Run (20k) before the half marathon…

Since I had really good sensations last Sunday when I ran 18k and felt like I could keep going for a few more k’s, I’ve decided to go for the 10k race. I think that I have trained enough for the Half, and that if I do a 15k run next week I will be more than ready for it, after all, my goal is to finish it, to get a first time so I can try and beat it next time!

So its on!! 10k on Sunday!! And I’m going to PR!! (of course… being my first race and all)

  1. Awesome!! Have fun with it and let us know how it goes!

  2. Good choice. Even though it is a relatively short distance for you, it is a good idea to get at least one race under your belt before your main event, in this case, the half. The only advice I can give is to stay at your pace. There is something about the crowds–the energy–that makes a person want to take off faster than they should. Pacing is extra important in a race. I look forward to hearing all about it.

  3. So how did it go???
